Started raining at 4am, and rained through pack up. Left at 8:15. Morning tea and stop for petrol at Dunmara. Diesel from the next pump ended up over my clothes, so I had to wash clothes and change before we moved on which took some time. Drove through Eliott with nary a glance – a great feeling. Lunch at a roadside truck stop, then arrived at camp site at Attack Ck mid afternoon. Repaired bed awning, and disemboweled the reversing camera to clean out the dust from within, so I could tell what was behind me. About a dozen caravans and campervans at the campsite. Lots of space. A noticable increase in caravans traveling north today – mostly from NSW, and mostly grey nomads. The first day we’ve seen a constant stream of them. The grey nomads must be racing for the best spots in Broome. We gather that the magic departure date from Sydney was last Monday.
